Trump and his team have a very sketchy history with the media...and with good reason: he doesn't want you to know the real truth, he wants you to think his lies are the truth.
Want an example? How about his rally the other day in Harrisburg. Trump described the crowd as record-breaking for the arena. The truth is a little bit less than that. In fact, lots of empty seats. Trump doesn't want you to know he lied a bit there. There's a lot of other things he'd rather you didn't know, but the bottom line that I'm afraid of is that Trump and his team are threatening to make freedom of the press a thing of the past. Take away the ability for news outlets to tell us what's really going on, and we'll be forced to take Trump's word for it. Combine this with the worrying tone of his ambitions, mix in a little self-delusion on the part of his supporters, a healthy dollop of family in the regime, and add a dash of repression of the press. Bake for 4 years, and you've got yourself a <fill in the blank here...'Republic', 'Secretariat', 'Democratic People's Republic', you get the idea>. Clearly, after inviting Duarte to the White House, praising Putin, Trump is excited by the concept of being a strongman. We should all be terrified by this. Trump has demonstrated he's not supporting the little guy, doesn't give two figs about delivering a good health plan for the voters, or any other nonsense. He simply wants to make rich folks richer. If he muzzles the press, and disbands the judiciary, he and his sycophantic Congress will be unstoppable. They could stand to do real damage to the US and its way of life. It's not too late. Again, I implore you, speak to your Congressman and Senator. Let them know that you want the government, and the President, to be thinking about you, NOT out to make a quick buck for himself and his friends.

You have to hand it to the Russians. They have a smaller Army than the US...so did they fight us directly? No...they appealed to American's greatest weakness: greed.
Encouraging investments where "funny money" could come back and influence American politics. Funny thing is, for once, I'm not talking about Trump, his children, extended family, or staff (either pre or post election)...I'm talking about the Republican candidate in Montana. He's got roughly $250000 in Russian funds that own large chunks of Gazprom and Rosneft, both of which are under US sanctions after Russia invaded Crimea. What is it with Republicans that they like that funny money? I do think it's time to admit defeat, and improve clarity at the same time!
Let's change the name of the Environmental Protection Agency to something that better reflects the direction of the new leadership. Here's a few suggestions: Environmental Rape Agency Exploitation Protection Agency Environment is Overrated Agency Protection Racket Agency Because Business, Fuck You Agency Who Likes Trees Anyway Agency How many can you think of to represent this bold new direction of the EPA? Passing the 100 day mark, Trump is now feeling successful enough (no one really knows why) that he feels it's time to "consolidate his power".
On Friday, Trump declared that "being president is hard". Wow. Really? Let's take just one example of why he's unsuited to being in the White House: he had an opinion on NAFTA that he was going to terminate it. He was going to affect millions based on this opinion. Yet he flip-flopped on that (as on so much else) saying that the reason he didn't was that one man brought a chart showing the areas that would be hardest hit, much of them areas that strongly supported him during the election. Why wouldn't he have noticed that BEFORE making his mind up about this policy? Surely he had people he trusted to do due diligence and investigate the ramifications of his anti-NAFTA stance, right? Surely, he wouldn't just doom millions of people based on a feeling in his gut, right? It is outrageous that a man who doesn't let so much as an original thought go through his mind would both make a rash decision based on feeling, and then be swayed by a simple chart, AND then tell the world about it so we know well and truly how big an idiot he is. Wanna change his mind on a key issue that he's come out strongly for or against? Show him a chart. Show him a picture of a child. So, he's truly to rule with whimsy...he's got his family in the White House...and how he's talking about consolidating his power so that he can rule more effectively. No horror movie would scare me more than this. The comparison here is very disturbing.
One of the few things that has held Trump in check up to this point is the courts. We know that congress now has a majority of spineless lickspittles that will back Trump, no matter how dangerous, damaging, or destructive he is. How many more steps are there before we can no longer defend the US government against this invasion of idiocy? Once the courts are gone, there's nothing to defend Americans from the elite rich that have taken over. It's not even nepotism any more, the Trumps are building a dynasty. The thought of a dynasty inside the US government is a horrifying thing. We've always said that it couldn't happen in the USA...our constitution is too strong, and our belief in freedom too firm. Ladies and Gents, we are watching an advanced class on how it's done. In the open. In broad daylight. We don't have much longer before it's too late. So, Trump voters, I have a question:
Are you getting what you paid for? Arguably, the only two things Trump and his administration have accomplished is to get in a Supreme Court judge (by breaking the Senate), and issue a bunch of executive orders that repealed Obamas executive orders. That's it. No major legislation has gotten through. He's made threats, and folded several times. he's gone back on many, of not most, of his campaign promises. Sparked trade wars and riled up some of our oldest allies. Is this really what you had in mind when you voted for him? Hey, look at the bright side: he's had plenty of time to work on his golf handicap, and that's gotta feel good. I have to wonder...what's the point?
Once you have untold billions (or even millions) what's the point of making more, or getting richer? There's only so much life. There's only so much earth. And yet...Republicans are dedicated to making it ever easier for the filthy rich to get even richer, and to hide their money from the taxman. Wake up people! The Trump administration specifically, and Republicans in general, are all about rich people getting richer. Just going by the law of averages, most of the people reading these words are on the poor side of that balance. I don't care what your party is, how you voted, or why. YOU are the ones being cheated by our current government. There will be change, all right, but it's not the change you imagined. Reach out to Congress and get them to stop this silliness before it's too late! Trump, his cabinet, and many (most?) of the rich are climate change deniers. They refuse to admit, in the face of overwhelming evidence, that climate change is man-made.
Why? There's over 7 billion reasons why... ...and this comes from a Senator. We should *all* be writing, calling, showing up on doorsteps of Congressional offices to let them know that this is not okay. Congress has been known to take care of itself ever so slightly better than it takes care of the people who elected the congressmen in the first place.
Here's another example. Please call, write, or visit your congressman and let him know that this is not, in fact, okay. The benefits of the highest levels of government should be no more and no less than any other field of work. Ivanka booed. A rich, pretty, white woman hissed at. How could such a thing happen?
Because she was being a monstrous hypocrite about protecting women and workers. Despite the public persona she's worked so hard for, she's a Trump through and through. She's about her bottom line and precious little else. The little people she has to cheat and rob are simply the cost of doing business, and she's happy to pay that. She's not a "voice of reason", if there is such a thing, in a Trump White House. She's simply another person sucking at the teat of the taxpayer, and fighting hard to get more than her fair share of the milk. Get her and her husband up on ethics violations already, and get them out of the White House. |
