So, in the on-going storm of media surrounding the first couple months of the Trump White House (his lies, his attacks), we might be forgetting what's really going on the background.
On November 9th, Moscow must have been a serious party town. They successfully interfered in the US election, and implicated most of the leadership of the US. This is turning a bit sour for them now. I hope that continues. The world should be watching the Russians, and preparing to let them see just what such interference produces.

It will come as no surprise to most people that Trump tells us things that are untrue.
I've made the case that he's got to keep telling bigger lies to cover his previous lies. Conor Friedersdorf goes into this in detail. Wow. Just...wow.
Trump is claiming that Obama personally directed people to wiretap Trump's offices and homes. He's making baseless claims via Twitter. [Edit: Of course, Obama's offices have immediately denied any of this, and many intelligence officials have come out saying it is ridiculous.] I've seen this time and time again: Trump and his supporters yell louder and more obnoxiously that their enemies (whichever they are referring to at the time, there are many, real and imagined) are doing something bad. Only...it always seems to turn out that Trump and his team are doing it worse, or more, or more illegally. So, Trump claims that the media is making stories up without claiming sources. You've heard this yourself many times from Trump: "Fake news. The media is making things up without sources...it's fake news, and it's illegal. They're the enemy of the people." I don't believe that the mainstream media actually fabricates stories out of wholecloth and hides behind anonymity. I might not know, but I don't believe it. Trump, on the other hand, does it in plain sight. His outright lies and fabrications are legion. They're *everywhere*. Even his buddy Putin has backed away from this train wreck of a presidency. He's making wacky stuff up, and his followers are swallowing it hook, line and sinker. This article discusses a few of the reasons behind this. Partly "Illusion of truth effect", (which explains Trump's craving for and need of the media), and partly "inability to self assess", Trump and his supporters simply can't see the flaws and problems with their reasoning. Trump's feeling under siege with the Sessions controversy. Can't say that I feel for him. He's a particular kind of crazy that's going to dig a hole for himself from which only ever bigger lies can rescue him.
He's got an interesting problem now: He's president. It's not (currently at least) the Kingly role he imagined. He's got duties, and responsibilities, and massive spotlights on his (and his staff's) every move. 320million+ people are counting on him to "Do The Right Thing". Unfortunately, that's not Trump's style. He tells ever bigger lies, says things that are ever more incendiary, and generally tries to hide his failings with chaos and deceit. On Friday, we heard that Trump is making moves to repeal and remove restrictions that force car makers to improve emissions from their cars.
The laws and directives were aimed at significantly reducing the tailpipe emissions (which are roughly 1/3 of America's emissions in total). How can this be a good thing? We *must* stop global warming. Not to save the planet, but to save ourselves. Incredibly short-sighted and misguided. I never thought I'd be saying this, but I love these Democrats, and not all Republicans are evil.
Could the republicans who are backing this realizing that their party has gone too far, put the USA in jeaopardy, and for what? A little political capital? How does the song go? If I were a rich man, Daidle deedle daidle Daidle daidle deedle daidle dumb All day long I'd biddy-biddy-bum If I were a wealthy man I wouldn't have to work hard, Daidle deedle daidle Daidle daidle deedle daidle dumb If I were a biddy-biddy rich, Daidle deedle daidle daidle man It really should go more like: http://thebea.st/2m8ZUbU
White House Says Kellyanne Conway Won’t Be Disciplined for Ivanka Infomercial The Office of Government Ethics and a leading Republican called her remarks improper, but the White House said she was just kidding and won’t be punished. They say birds of a feather flock together.
That seems to be a pretty apt way of describing the gang in the cabinet. No president has even had such a collection of billionaires, lies, cheats, thieves, scoundrels. Now it's Sessions who had contact with the Russians, and then denied (to the Senate and in writing) having contact with the Russians. Thing is, Senator Al Franken has released documents showing that, in fact, he did have contact. Why the FBI and a Special Prosecutor Must Immediately Investigate Attorney General Jeff Sessions ‘I didn’t have communications with the Russians,’ Sessions said under oath. We now know that he did, and it's time for a full investigation. Between the Republicans in Congress who refuse to investigate seemingly anyone no matter the provocation, the head of the National Security council who had to be fired, and an Attorney General who is implicated in dealing with the Russians, we hardly know where to look next. Cut off the head of the snake, and the snake is no more threat. Impeach Trump, his cabinet can go with him, and we can get the government back under adult supervision again for the benefit of the people, instead of for the enrichment of the billionaires who already have so much.
Nobody could say it more clearly:
Bernie nailed it. I'm *so* disappointed that I couldn't vote for him!
